Created for LOVEWANT Magazine Issue 38 as an artistic interpretation of Chanel's Bleu de Chanel L'Exclusif fragrance, this mixed-media editorial layers physical and digital techniques into a composition that is immersive and slightly surreal. A central landscape rendered in Bryce 3D is surrounded by scanned textile and fabric layers in deep cobalt and grey, with hand-drawn pastel and marker outlines tracing angular architectural forms across the surface. The layering approach draws on the Ralph Bakshi aesthetic of colliding textures and old-school 3D within a single visual plane. Commissioned by editor Bart Celestino with a brief for something raw and unpolished, the work responds directly to the fragrance's bold, atmospheric character while sitting firmly within my practice of merging disciplines into something that resists easy categorisation.
